SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Two Settlement Points to be retired from Network Operations Model

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  January 10, 2012

LONG DESCRIPTION:  The Settlement Points CELANEB_PUN1 and CELANEB_PUN2 will be retired with the January 10, 2012, Network Operations Model load. These two Settlement Points were non-biddable in the January 2012 CRR Auction. Likewise, the Day-Ahead Market (DAM) will exclude bids and offers at these Settlement Points when they are effectively removed from the model.

The DAM does not have the capability to reject offers and bids submitted on a future Network Operations Model. Therefore, ERCOT will manually remove any bids and offers on CELANEB_PUN1 and CELANEB_PUN2 prior to the DAM execution at 10:00 on January 9, 2012, for Operating Days January 10, 2012, and beyond. This will prevent DAM awards on points that will not exist in the Real-Time Market on and after January 10, 2012.

Similarly, Market Participants should NOT submit trades that include the CELANEB_PUN1 and/or CELANEB_PUN2 Settlement Points for Operating Days January 10, 2012, and beyond. ERCOT will manually remove any confirmed trades that include these points prior to the execution of Settlements.
The model load is scheduled to be completed around 00:01 on January 10, 2012. Once the model load is complete, all market submissions will be validated against the data within the loaded model, which will not include CELANEB_PUN1 and CELANEB_PUN2. From that point on, the Market Management System will automatically reject any submissions on these points.
