SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Additional implementation details for NPRR461

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants and Settlement Personnel

DAYS AFFECTED:  July 27 - August 1, 2013

LONG DESCRIPTION:  On January 15, 2013, the ERCOT Board modified the Effective Date of Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) 461, Energy Storage Settlements Consistent with PUCT Project 39917, from "upon system implementation" to "upon implementation of Release 6."  Therefore, on February 14, 2013, due to implementation of Release 6, Protocol language associated with NPRR461 was unboxed.

During the scheduled R4 release, July 27 through August 1, 2013, ERCOT will complete the system changes and production migration of NPRR461.  Please note that the ERCOT Board authorized and approved for ERCOT Staff to use a Settlement implementation process which utilizes the NPRR461 Settlement logic, after system implementation, for any affected Operating Day on or after implementation of "Release 6" and prior to the implementation of NPRR461.

The NPRR461 settlement treatment will be applied as follows:

NPRR461 logic will be applied on regularly scheduled RTM Final Settlement and RTM True-Up Settlement for Operating Days during this period.

NPRR461 logic will be applied on regularly scheduled RTM Initial Settlement for these Operating Days.

Real-Time Energy Imbalance at a Resource Node (RTEIAMT)

Please note that NMSAMTTOT will be used in the calculation of Real-Time Energy Imbalance for all Resource Nodes. RTMG will no longer be used.

Extract Changes:

In support of NPRR461, ERCOT is making the following changes to the extracts and their supporting documents:

Additions will be made to the Public Reference Data Extract (PRDE).

·         New Table added:  METERTYPE

Additions will be made to the Resource ID (RID) Extract and the Recorder ID (REC) Extract.

·         New Column added: RESOURCEID.DISPATCHASSETCODE

·         New Column added: RESOURCEID.METERTYPECODE

·         New Column added: RESOURCEID.METERGROUP

User Guides, DDLs and XSDs for NPRR461 can be found on the ERCOT website, under Services, at http://www.ercot.com/services/mdt/ <http://www.ercot.com/services/mdt/%20> .

The Real-Time Price for the Energy Metered as Wholesale Storage Load at bus (RTRMPRWSL) for previous Operating Days (starting February 14, 2013) will be published in the SID Extract.

The changes to the above mentioned extracts will occur within the release window, the specific dates the changes will take affect will be provided in the 10 day notice.

ACTION REQUIRED:  Implement changes to shadow settlement systems in compliance with NPRR461.
