SHORT DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT will hold the training class ERCOT Wholesale
Market Basics (Zonal) in March, 2009.

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  March 3-4, 2009

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT will hold the Market Participant training
course "Wholesale Market Basics (Zonal)" on Tuesday, March 3, and
Wednesday, March 4, 2009. This two-day course is a general overview of
the current ERCOT wholesale market, and is a comprehensive introduction
to market timeline, real-time operation and related wholesale settlement
process.  It does not go into detailed study of market rules, operation
procedures, or the new nodal market design. 

This seminar is intended for representatives of newly registered ERCOT
market participants, new employees of existing market participant
organizations, or anyone relatively new to the ERCOT market. 

At the end of this seminar, the participant should have a basic
understanding of current ERCOT wholesale market concepts and functions,
which should allow the participant to pursue further studies using
available reference materials.

The ERCOT Wholesale Basics Seminar will provide a basic overview of the
following topics:

*        ERCOT Market Structure

*        ERCOT Stakeholder Process

*        Wholesale Market Operations

*        Settlement Processes

*        Meter Data Acquisition

*        Data Aggregation

*        Load Profiling

*        Data Extracts

ERCOT's new Learning Management System (LMS).  To access the LMS, please
use the link from the Wholesale Basics webpage,

The first time you access the site, you will need to create an account
(if one is not already in place).  Use the mouse to click the link to
create an account and complete the information requested.  Then click
the "Create My Account" link.  Once your account has been created you
can click "Sign In" and you will be directed to the "My Courses" page.
Upon logging into the LMS, the participant should select the course
