SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Registration deadline for 2010 ERCOT Black Start Training is February 15, 2010
INTENDED AUDIENCE:  TDSPs, Black Start and Next Start QSEs and Resources
DAY AFFECTED:  Training beginning on April 5, 2010
LONG DESCRIPTION:  The February 15, 2010, deadline to register for the 2010 ERCOT Black Start Training is rapidly approaching. If you haven't registered yet and would like to attend, please register immediately or make arrangements with Stacy Wozny as soon as possible.
ERCOT will host the 2010 ERCOT Black Start Training in Taylor, TX beginning April 5, 2010.
There will be 12 training sessions scheduled and each session will be one and a half days, held at the ERCOT facility in Taylor, TX. The first day will start at 12:00 PM and end at 5:00 PM covering Black Start theory and the responsibilities of each entity involved in the restoration process. The second day will start at 7:00 AM and last until 5:00 PM and will focus on simulating the restoration of the ERCOT System. For completion of the day and a half training session, 15 Continuing Education Hours (CEH) will be awarded to those who hold a NERC Certification.
There is also a dry run scheduled for March 15 and 16, 2010.
ACTION REQUIRED:  To register, please fill out the attached registration form and return to Stacy Wozny no later than February 15, 2010.
The cost for the training is $35 per person. Checks should be made out to "ERCOT", and more than one registrant can be paid for on the same check. Please make sure that originals or copies of registration forms accompany the check. Payment and registration forms should be sent to:

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Participants for the 2010 ERCOT Black Start Training cannot register for the course in the ERCOT Learning Management System (LMS). Registration will be completed by Stacy Wozny once payments and registration forms have been received. But, participants are encouraged to update user profiles in the LMS to reflect all current information, including participant name, NERC Certification number (if applicable), email address, etc.
The ERCOT 2010 Black Start Training schedule and a list of suggested local hotels are also attached to this Notice.
