NOTICE TYPE: W-A052610-01 Operations

SHORT DESCRIPTION: Implementation Reminder for PRR841, Revise Total ERCOT Wind Power Forecast (TEWPF)

INTENDED AUDIENCE: QSEs Representing WGRs

DAY AFFECTED: April 1, 2010

LONG DESCRIPTION: Protocol Revision Request (PRR) 841, Revise Total ERCOT Wind Power Forecast (TEWPF), was effective on April 1, 2010. This PRR amended ERCOT Protocol Section 4.4.15, QSE Resource Plans, to require that Qualified Scheduling Entities (QSEs) representing Wind-powered Generation Resources (WGRs) use ERCOT-provided Short-Term Wind Power Forecasts (STWPFs) for WGRs as the planned operating level in their Resource Plans. This is required for the Resource Plan submitted for 16:00 in the Day Ahead and prior to the Replacement Reserve Service (RPRS) Market running in the Adjustment Period.

The STWPF is a fifty percent (50%) probability of exceedance forecast of the generation in MWh per hour from each WGR. Prior to April 1, 2010, QSEs were required to use an eighty percent (80%) probability of exceedance forecast; however, this was changed as part of PRR841.

ACTION REQUIRED: QSEs representing WGRs should ensure that they are now using the ERCOT-provided STWPF as required by ERCOT Protocol Section 4.4.15, QSE Resource Plans.
