Dylan,

SSWG has a meeting in Taylor on April 11-12. I will be at the PGDTF meeting
at some point on the 12 (I think) and will be at PGDTF on the 13.

Thanks,

Doug Evans

PGDTF:

Attached is the Draft GMD Vulnerability Assessment Scope for your comments.
Please provide your comments back to ERCOT by May 1.

Note that this draft assumes that we will run P1, select P6, and P7
contingencies as a part of this GMD Vulnerability Assessment even though
ERCOT is not yet fully committed to running those contingencies as a part of
the Vulnerability Assessment.

We can discuss this in greater detail but please note that the standard does
not require that the assessment include a contingency analysis, instead it
only requires that the assessment Simulate the "GMD Event with Outages"
which would include "Reactive Power compensation devices and other
Transmission Facilities removed as a result of Protection System operation
or Misoperation due to harmonics during the GMD event" but nothing beyond
this. Additionally, recent discussions with other regions thus far have not
indicated that other regions have plans to simulate any TPL-001-4
contingencies as a part of their GMD Vulnerability Assessments.

Looking forward to discussing this with you more in the weeks ahead.
